This is the Long Version, episode 007 : "We are janitor"
This is a different sort of episode. It’s super short and it has profanity. A fair amount. It is about Black Lives Matter, it is about tough topics and how we talk with our children, and it is about what it means to be a dad, to be a Christian, to be a citizen, to be…a human being.
There is profanity / explicit content in this episode.
It doesn’t mean kids can’t or shouldn’t listen. It just means there’s content in which I use words that need to be used in this situation. I do not apologize.
This episode clocks in at 15 minutes and 17 seconds.
"We are janitor" is a statement of position in regards to Black Lives Matter and the role our children play in conversations about privilege, change, identity, and equality.
It’s about our family’s relationship with what is happening. It is a statement of purpose and an attempt, as a dad, a Christian, an American citizen, and a human being, to present why I think it is important to involve our children in these conversations and not shy away from challenging dialogues and looking into places of our hearts and heads we don’t feel like looking. THERE IS PROFANITY. I do not apologize for its use in this episode. It will not be an ongoing trend. That’s your heads-up. Be well.
Thank you again to Jeremy Long for his assistance, to my family, and to those who choose the right times to listen and when to speak; when to stand, when to sit, and when to kneel.
We are janitor.
Thanks for listening!
