Welcome to earth, precious one.

I think the importance of good communication is so important. For example, when we entrusted our son to illustrate a 'welcome to the world' card for an upcoming baby shower, then my brief was this:

"Remember that it's in celebration of a sweet little baby, so design something...nice. No blood, nothing involving poop, and absolutely no scenes of carnage or scariness."

I communicated this clearly, simply, and succinctly, and made sure that when he returned after diligently laboring on it,

I verified that his card depicting a fanged vampire holding a cigarette was absent all of the items I had communicated to him.

That is clear communication.

"It's not really scary at all,"
he explained.
"But it might be a little disturbing."
