The beginning of something is filled with innovation and excitement; the promise of the new.
After that, it’s work.
And fighting for attention in a world filled with content and an audience for whom attention is often the worst of both commodity and luxury.
So to those who start a blog…good for you.
And to those who keep on going, often quietly and away from the melee and adrenaline of instant feedback at the big virtual watering holes…super good for you.
I will say the same thing about myself as a blogger that I do about myself as a parent:
I try hard.
Things I’ve enjoyed this week:
Taken 2. Still not tired of Liam Neeson as action hero..but ideally this franchise won’t turn into Police Academy.
Double feature movies. That feeling of settling in for that most beautiful of mise en scenes: the dimming of the lights and the Dolby surround coming up and knowing you’re locked away for a few hours of cinematic bliss. Even if it’s a bad movie.
Argo. Spiffy little spy-ish thriller with better than expected writing and performances.
Talking with people about The Greatest Song Ever, because it’s such a great thing to argue about.
The fond memory of Becca introducing me to High Fidelity.
