Adventure Log
We voted to make this our official “Adventure Lunch Day.”
Kicked it off by having an Autumn picnic in the driveway, amidst green trees and yellow leaves. Billions of them.
We dined on peanut butter sandwiches (Dave’s Killer variety), and we chatted about our family rules regarding peanut butter (Adams only, never refrigerate), and we also briefly discussed the weather. It’s chilly.
Bonus:
We observed skateboarders trying to jump stairs. I explained how I am very good at skateboarding, and how they are not.
People kept telling them to leave. They did not.
Also, we listened to Raffi’s Baby Beluga, which is very catchy.
Loud little voice calling for me. I scurry in through the thick dark, around LEGO pieces and bottle caps and scissors and tiny monsters and I pick her up, and she clutches me in the fierceness that comes only with relief from panic and whispers…
"Daddy, I am sorry for screaming.
I just got a little bit scared of the moon and the dark.
But now I will try and be brave with you."
“You are brave,”
I whispered, holding her just tight of crushing.
”I will try and be brave with you.”
