A day in the forest, a day in the city.
I did not intend to be away all day. But I was. We were. There was bubble-blowing and hiking; parking lot races and window shopping; park swinging and neighborhood strolling. And colours are blooming. Unlike the majority of humanity, I love flowers.
Also, the elder child found a colony of ants. They were not inside our house, so I liked them.
The evolution of independence seems, after three+ years, to rocket chaotically between a linear and a logarithmic progression.
Independence takes different forms, and I am constantly so interested what a child will do with open space and imagination. And a great hat color-coordinated with the environment.
