I have done poorly in Oscar voting for years; confirming my long-held belief that they are nothing but serendipitous guesswork.
As I look at my almost flawless score thus far tonight, an epiphany is striking me: there really IS a huge amount of savvy intelligence and cinematic knowledge required in order to do well. Wow.
