Another picture completely different from some of the other pictures which aren’t quite the same.
I look at this image, and although they're not playing chess here, I keep thinking of Bergman's 1957 classic The Seventh Seal.
A thoughtful, intriguing, and often dull film about death and faith and hope.
So then I look at this image again, and think of Monty Python, and the many ludicrous enlightenments and dotty humor of 1975's The Holy Grail.
And then I look at this image again, and remember that the reality is that they are
designing and drawing food pyramids,
using pen & watercolour, and discussing
whether a blueberry is a better fruit than a strawberry,
and whether people actually eat chicken eggs with baby chickens inside,
and whether Leonardo da Vinci is the best cook of the Ninja Turtles,
and agreeing that Andrew Jackson treated Native Americans terribly,
and vigorously hurling Shakespearean insults with shotgun-sniper precision
and wondering if it's worse to be evil or to be wicked,
and why do some people stick tomatoes in the vegetable part of the pyramid,
because it is, of course, a fruit.
(yes, no tomatoes in fruit salad)
And I realise that oftentimes Reality really is the great apex of Imagination, or at least a catalyst;
and that sometimes what I imagine is happening is less interesting than what's actually happening.
Still, comparing something to Monty Python is rarely a poor choice, right? Right.

King Arthur: I am your king.
Peasant Woman: Well, I didn't vote for you.
King Arthur: You don't vote for kings.
Peasant Woman: Well, how'd you become king, then?
